Harvest has started. Galas are being carefully picked based on how much color they have.

I know I say it every fall, but the trees really do look more beautiful with the apples off.

Dave with binsgirlsElise helping roll strapsThe orchard is a family affair, although we try to limit what the kids do at this age to tasks that can easily be remunerated with slurpees.  I’m so proud of my girls – they have really been rockstars through the last few years and all the sacrifices starting the cidery has required them to make in having “fun” family time – instead making the most of coming along with whatever work is at hand. They really do mirror my own attitude and for the most part if I choose to be upbeat, so do they. Kids are pretty fantastic.

Apples for Sale

galaApples are now for sale at the cidery – watch our facebook page for updates as varieties become available.

This year we are trying something new – all varieties are 65¢ a pound, even premium fruit such as honeycrisp, aurora or ambrosia. This should allow for simple mixing of varieties when you purchase.

Box Deposit
Because we have tried to keep prices very reasonable, we are asking that you bring your own boxes, or pay a $1 box deposit to use…. hopefully this does not create a barrier for anyone. We do have (no charge) bags available for purchases of smaller amounts (5-10lbs)

Hours for apple sales will be the same as our tasting room – Wednesday – Sunday, 11-5.

Also – thank-you so much for following here, and purchasing your apples, cider and juice from our family.  I can’t express over a blog how much it makes a difference to us and our farm.

We do our best to return your dollars to our local economy by supporting other small hardworking family businesses here in Vernon with our personal shopping, and supporting local businesses and tradespeople whenever possible through what our cidery requires to run.  It really does all go around!
