Alexandria

Alexandria is our small-batch label that is constantly evolving. Allowing us to be playful as cidermakers with new techniques or fusions with other botanicals or fruits, Alexandria is always innovative and will only ever be available in small batches, one-offs, or limited releases. If we deem the batch a “success” it graduates to it’s own label on the next vintage. Examples of these ciders include our Lavender Raspberry, Cranberry Cinnamon, Blackcurrant Cardamom, and Vanilla Plum.

The Alexandria suspension bridge was the essential link for the Cariboo road over the mighty Fraser River. Traveled by the Barnard’s Express company, this bridge was a testament to the skill and ingenuity of the Royal Engineers who built it. The entire Cariboo Wagon Road was considered an engineering feat of it’s day. Rebuilt several times after flooding or disrepair destroyed it, Alexandria was always changing.  The remnants of the Alexandria bridge can still be viewed today at a provincial park by the same name, near Yale BC.

Just as the bridge required creativity and ingenuity as it was rebuilt several times, our Alexandria label cider is ever-evolving through our creative, small-batch experiments.  Some “Alexandria” releases will go on to have their own label and join the BX family of characters, and others may only be made once.
