This project is supported by the BC Government’s Buy Local Program; delivered by the Investment Agriculture Foundation of BC with funding from the BC Ministry of Agriculture.

We are grateful to have received funding from the BC Government’s Buy Local Program. This initiative is an excellent program for BC companies, associations, & groups that make a food or beverage product from BC-grown ingredients. More people should apply, if you ask me.  The program is well administered, has high levels of accountability that funds are used as approved for, and is available to a wide range of food producers and processors here in the province. You can learn more about the program here.  I believe there is an intake for applicants in early February – now is the perfect time to contact Investment Agriculture BC about your ideas and what ways funding might be available to you.

Our ciders sold so quickly this past summer we were not able to utilize all of the funds we were eligible for – including initiatives such as expanding into the Vancouver farmers markets. These funds will be returned to the pool for future applicants (again – apply!).

You may have noticed on our bottles and boxes from this past summer the Buy Local logo, identifiers which helped distribute our products further from home.  The funds also helped us build an online store, which was recently launched to facilitate the sale of our winter Vanilla Plum cider –  which sold out in record time.  This shop will make our ciders accessible to customers across the province and Canada while streamlining the ordering and payment process. It will relaunch when we have stock from the next vintage this spring.
