Frequently Asked

questions

Your experience at our orchard is important to us.  Please take a moment to see if any of the following questions pertain to your visit so you can have the best experience possible.

Are Children Allowed?

Absolutely!   We are family-friendly but also ask that your family be friendly and children well behaved and under the direct supervision of their parents at all times. We can provide colouring materials upon request. Please note that individuals under the age of 19 cannot sample the cider and if adults are witnessed sharing cider with their minors, their entire group will be asked to leave.

Are Dogs Allowed?

Well behaved dogs are welcome on-leash in the picnic area and patio. Please pick up after your pup and ensure they are on-leash with you the entire visit.

Can We Bring Our Own Food?

We ask that you refrain from bringing off-site food to both our picnic area and our patio. We have carefully curated a menu and picnic options which complement and pair well with our ciders.   Many of the food items we have chosen also support other local artisans and makers.

Can We Walk in the Orchard?

Yes we have (new for May 2020) a self-guided orchard walk.  We ask that visitors stay in the block of trees nearest the cidery, wear appropriate footwear for sticks and uneven terrain, and pick up after your dog.

Do you take Private Bookings?

At this point we do not host private functions.

How Much Do Tastings Cost?

Tastings operate September through April and cost $4.25. There is a $5 refund available when a case of cider (12 bottles) are purchased.

How Do I Buy Event Tickets?

Tickets for Saturday night concerts are available through Ticketseller

For Thursday and Friday live music a $5 cover that supports the band can be paid at time of food or cider purchase.

Can We Hear BX Stories?

Yes! During our daily tours (May – September) you can hear the stories of the Barnards Express and the characters on the bottles poured. If visiting us during the slow season we are often able to share some of the stories during a tasting if the tasting room is not busy.

Can I smoke/vape at the Cidery?

Our property is smoke and vape free property.

When Does Your Pizza Oven Run?

Our Forno wood-fired pizza oven operates mid-May to early September, Thursday to Sunday.

Can I get pizza To-Go?

We do not offer pizza to-go.

Do you have Gluten free or Vegan pizza?

We do offer gluten free and vegan options for a slight premium price.

How Do I Join the Cider Club?

The Cider Club accepts new applications in January of each year. Until then you can join our no-obligation waitlist. We contact waitlist members in January and request a response if you are still interested in participating.

Do You Offer Weddings?

We do not currently have a space for weddings and are not able to host them.

Can We Take Wedding Pictures in Your Orchard?

We occasionally accommodate requests for wedding pictures to be taken in the orchard. Please email us at least two weeks in advance with the request. Three cases of cider must be pre-purchased and all vehicles must park in the lower over-flow parking lot.

Can We Pick Apples?

We do not have a u-pick or allow for picking apples off the trees. During harvest season we have apples prepicked for you straight from the orchard, in bins by the cidery. You are able to select which apples you’d like to take home from the bins.

Can You Donate to my Fundraiser?

We  support many community causes with donations for silent auctions. These must be vetted through tasting room staff and include an official donation letter outlining the fundraiser including the date, cause, and contact information for further detail.  Occasionally we need to limit the number of fundraisers supported but do our best to spread the love and support the many worthy causes in our North Okanagan Community.
